Is this the 3rd generation? Newer one? null

No, it's the first gen. BUT, this is an incredible little box. It's the size of a softball, but it makes sound like a full sized speaker and when you link two together, it is unstoppable. I was actually asked to turn down Christmas music at work during a free Christmas day dinner because our manager couldn't hear the guests properly, lol!

Yes it's the latest model of that series. It's well worth the sale price I paid for it.
