“When I hit the save button it should save a 1 minute clip then go back to loop recording but it stays on save mode until it fills up the card and stops recording. Is there a way to fix this? I'm about to throw this thing in the trash.”

If you look at your manual, it'll guide you to an option called looped recording. With this option turned off, the camera will stop recording once the storage is full.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have basically the same problem. I hit save and it STARTS recording a new file that it saves. Then writes over the actual thing I wanted to keep. Seems like a common problem, but I just got a 32GB card so that it can record for hours and hours before looping and wiping my actual event.
