you probably could do this but would more than linkely need to "Re-pair" the Receiver to the transmitter your audio source you were wanting to hear from. and easier way would be to use two transmitters, two receivers and an audio selector A/B Switcher you could they have your two transmitters at their spots (den and Living room) then a receiver as each of the inputs on the A/B selector switch which then feeds your speakers. this would mean you just flip the A/B switch to A for one room and B for the other room. those switches are easy to find at places like Source or Radio Shack
