Absolutely. Comes with a battery which you charge via standard USB-C connector. Mine is wired, so not sure how long the battery lasts, but my guess is that normal usage maybe would require you to recharge 2-3 times a year (I'm fully guessing here). Net Net is that it's got a battery. It does not require wiring to an existing doorbell wire.

While it can be hardwired to charge while mounted, it's not required for operation. You can choose to run it on battery power alone or use a plug-in adapter for constant power.
