We wash them out and let them dry. We have two sets, while one set is drying, we can use the other one. Has worked great.

Please try again later.I got new carbon filters for mine, and opened up the previous used carbon container and put some of the carbon in my Foodcycler and the carbon came out composted like the vegetables I also had in the bucket. I also see that you can buy carbon only without purchasing more containers and refill the existing plastic filters.
