• You do not need a conversion box. The tv can receive a digital signal.

• The TV has a built in tuner that should decode your cable providers signal.

• All the TV's have been digital receivers for some time now, and all broadcast is digital. If you have Comcast, they will still charge you $5.99 a month for a "TV adapter" if you don't want the larger box with menus or DVR, etc. They used to call this tiny box a digital adapter. Its real purpose is apparently to control what channels you can receive based on what you are paying for, and of course, to get the extra $5.99 a month (for each TV you have). Maybe other cable providers have a different deal. I do like Comcast.
