Yes it s a smart TV, however the way it's built you will need a smart phone to control it. Sucks. The remote control is so basic you can't do much, that's why is on sale now. Unless you want to use your cell all the time with the TV all is fine
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The honest answer is NO it IS NOT a smart TV. A smart TV hooks directly to your wifi and uses different apps to stream content directly to your TV..... This one does not! The ONLY thing that makes this TV even remotely different from a standard 4K TV is the built in Chromecast. It would be the same thing as buying a regular 4K TV and then buying a Chromecast device and plugging it in to it. With this TV, you must use a smart phone to get the content to the TV. That's what you got. Of course you can still use cable, dish, or an antenna to watch your TV but you can't hook this TV directly to the Internet. That's it. End of story.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just got this TV model for Fathers Day and after installing it I was surprised only to learn that this is just a regular TV with build in "Chormecast". (Might as well just call it Chromecast TV for that ). I've called customer support on the top sticker of the front of its display and it looks like all models of "E", "M" and "P" series of VIZIO are build that way. Only "D" series has a build in apps which makes them true smart TV. Costumer Service did let me know that if my TV is connected via WiFi an updated in near future will enable it to have a few build in apps. They couldn't provide me with a date however.
