“I have Directv and there are some low res channels that look awful on the 65 inch set I have.Does anyone know if Vizio has heard customer complaints about the poor quality up scaling the P series does on low resolution channels.”

The p65-c1 does not upscale 480i or 480p content well; even on a calibrated device the picture is 'soft' and lacks sharp definition. It reminds me of dream sequence scenes in movies. 720p and 1080p upscaling depends on the source. Satellite and cable providers deliver highly compressed, lossy 720p or 1080i content that doesn't scale well on the p65-c1. However, high quality Blu-ray, ripped 720p and 1080p content at high bit rates and even OTA 1080p content (you'll need a Home Run network TV tuner or TiVo OTA device for broadcast content with the 2016 Vizio s) do scale well enough.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have direct tv and can say that it does a very good job of upscaling most content, content at 480 resolution doesn't upscale well on any of these bigger screens, too few pixels to upscale effectively. The rest is good.
