Google Cast and Chrome cast cannot be used interchangeably. ChromeCast is a piece of hardware developed by google as a cheap casting device. Google Cast is the software that runs the hardware, but a Chromecast is not required to use it. Yes, Chrome Cast hardware is limited to 1080p. But the Google Cast software does not share this limitation. Hope this helps clear things up a bit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This tv has a custom version of google cast that google and vizio worked on that supports 4k. You are correct that regular chromecasts do not support 4k but the google cast on the vizio p series tvs do.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You just use the Netflix app. When you click input to get the message bar at the top you will notice its in 4k (2160p). There is no special thing you need to do. It would be nice when SmartCast can add Netflix as a source but you dont need Vizio's software to handle it. I had the same worry as you but after I tested Netflix's 4k test content (underwater one is my favorite) I defenitely dont worry about it anymore. Also the upconvert on 1080p on this TV is just amazing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Here is chromecast ultra for 4k content that $60 Now if the build in chromecast is ultra scale I don't know but it is something that is possible

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It does get 4k on net flix through cast. . Verified this through the tablet remote. Settings- system information- display. It even shows if HDR is on our not.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Vizio Cast support Netflix 4k and will 'ramp' up to full 2160p in the first minute or two as you watch the Netflix program, as long as you have sufficient internet bandwidth to support 4k/2160p streams and you've selected a Netflix 4K program. HOWEVER, here is where this brainless monitor becomes a challenge; since the low-end tablet that comes with the p65 does *not* display 4k, the Netflix app doesn't show you the list of available 4K programs. You have to search using key words 4k or 2160p and even then the list isn't complete. This is a major flaw. I have an LG 50" 4k smart TV in my home office and a HiSense 50" 4K smart TV that each display the full list of Netflix 4k 2160p content automatically. I have a feeling the 2017 Vizio lineup will return to having the intelligence built in to the TV and write the whole 2016 series experiment, and customers who bought into it, as a mistake.
