I believe there have been ARC issues on this set but Vizio has released new firmware that should have greatly improved ARC. And to answer your question, yes you can pass Atmos through streaming using ARC as long as the source supports it. The Vudu app on the smartcast remote has many 4K Dolby Vision movies with Dolby Atmos.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.ARC does support Dolby ATMOS. I am doing this with this TV and the Denon X3200. I do not think it is possible to get ATMOS through optical audio.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I really tried to get ARC working, but it seems non functional when doing anything 4K. ARC appears to only be supported on HDMI 1, but 4K/60hz seems to only be available on HDMI 5. Maybe you'll have better luck. I'm using a Denon AVR-S910w. Optical return channel works, but not sure that it is capable of atmos.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes the ARC supports Dolby Atmos, I'm not sure if the Optical out will though.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.According to rtings.com the ARC Channel only supports 5.1 output, ditto with the optical (although I do not believe that output can even support ATMOS to begin with...) so I believe you will need to use an external device to be able to get ATMOS format.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
