No. When the TV detects the soundbar, the TV built-in speakers automatically mute. This answer is from both personal experience and the owners manual from Vizio.

I can have it play sound from external sources only, through the television speakers and external sources, or just through the television. You will need to check your television's audio output settings to see how your television handles sound. Not all televisions are made the same so check your televisions audio out functions.
