“I have the vizio smartcast 5.1 channel soundbar and used to have it connected to my cable remote. I no longer have cable so I want to control it using my TV remote but it's not working. How do I reset or get this to work?”

Depending on how you’re connecting the soundbar to the tv, your tv remote can control the soundbar. You may have to program your soundbar to recognize your tv remote. You can do that using the soundbar remote and going to PRG REMOTE and using the corresponding buttons on your tv remote when prompted so your soundbar “learns” the signal from your tv remote. There are instructions on vizio’s website, or plenty of YouTube videos.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This sound bar should not need to be reset as the cable remote would have had the IR codes needed to control the sound bar. If you are using a VIZIO television the sound bar has a VIZIO TV remote setting that can be turned of to control volume and power of the sound bar. If you are using a different television you can use the Learn remote feature (page 35 of the manual) for volume up and down and mute.
