“The rear speakers are not that great as far and sound quality. I would like to upgrade them to better quality speakers if possible. They are directly wired to the subwoofer. Does anyone know of a better quality speaker or should I buy a new system?”

Since they are wired to the sub, you can replace them with any surround speakers or small bookshelf speakers you want. Any decent quality pair of 3" or 4" surround speakers ($30 to $60 a pair) would be just fine.
