• The Vizio answer was somewhat helpful but I thought I could add more to help the next person. Yes, you can hook up surround sound speakers in the ceiling. I bought cables that have RCA male on one end to plug into the sub, and speaker cables on the other to hook up to your surround speakers, and this seems to be working well.

• If the cables are a standard speaker cable with an RCA port you should be able to use them.

• The rear speakers that come with the Vizio system use plugs similar to earbuds to plug into the subwoofer, so I don't think you can use your current surrounds.
