• My did that a lot. Download SmartCast and turn off eco mode.

• The reason for that, is that sub woofers are generally very simple. There's an on & off switch. But no settings that aren't controlled through the bar. If the sub woofer isn't working- and we've tried pairing it multiple times, it may just need to be serviced.
