• Hi Jerry, This can heat an area up to 400 sq. feet. It has an simple on/off switch for both the heat and flames. It does not include a thermostat. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

• I have it in my basement and it can heat up that area pretty well. Of course this is after it has ran for a little bit.
