• The refrigerator automatically tells you need to replace every 6 months! I hate to admit it but with only 2 people in our household, we just reset it and waited until it notified again in 6 months! Never tasted anything different, saves us $50!!!

• The red light comes on after 6 months to replace it but it will still work until you buy a new one. My guess is it is just dirty so it might not filter as good as a new one.

• When the light comes on then I would go to Best Buy and get one. Suppose to last for 300 gals of water, Bought at Best Buy it was on the shelve!
