Mine makes the same sounds. It is louder than I expected but about the same sound level as my electric toothbrush. It would be a bother if you were trying to floss while someone was trying to sleep in.

Yes, it is rather noisy and previous models were noisy as well. Not sure if this could be designed quieter but this is expected.

The product is a motor driven appliance. Some noise and vibration is normal.
