Have been on that same boat it took a few foram post to get this information. But usually hp laptop service manual also has the information. Hope this helps.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Maybe enable it in the bios...i got mine to work on a sabertooth 990fx motherboard with an pci-e adapter. And that board is 8yrs old. Had to enable in bios.
