I see that laptop already has an NVMe drive installed so you wouldn't see faster boot times (assuming it's the $2k model I see on Best Buy's website). Though you could still buy this and make it a new drive for additional storage.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it is additional storage. Re-boot time would require your operating system to be installed on the m.2.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mosrly is used as the system main disk for windows if your laptop has an additional same slot then it could be use for storage if your laptop has a 2.5 slot then use that one as storage.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well does your laptop have a slot to expand its storage? If so yes you could boot off this drive BUt you will need to reinstall windows ONTO this drive for it to boot up. Being honest I’ve never done to a laptop but have done it countless times to a normal tower and I’d imagine it’s the exact same. Look up how to reinstall windows there are tons of videos online super simple process And yes this thing is insanely fast. I boot up in 10-15 seconds max
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes but it will only be as fast as the drive you're currently using and depending on the bios you may have to set the second M.2 as 4x in the bios. Check with your manual or on the ASUS support website. Best option would be to have two and set them to RAID0 with RST for the best results. I've had problems both with WD's game mode messing op the boot/BCD and also with having mixed NAND, drivers & firmware; especially with laptops. Also ASUS UEFI bios have the option to use MB OEM Bios in lieu of the ones from the NVMe drive. But still I would replace the stock NVMe also, a lot of the stock drives come in X2 speed and not X4.
