Yes it will work. Be sure to make a Time Machine backup before installing it. Use a seperate USB drive for the Time Machine backup. Press the option button after installing it to either boot from internet (clean install) or from a USB installer on a flash drive (faster). Look up how to make a MacOS USB installer before putting in this Western Digital drive. The system will reinstall MacOS and then will offer the opportunity to apply the Time Machine backup. You will now have a fresh install that is exactly like the old one. Apple makes this very easy....much better than Windows.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just replaced a hdd in my 2011 Mac mini server with a different brand ssd. I found out later that just about any ssd will work in your Mac mini. The problem is you need to be replacing an existing drive because the mini uses a special cable to connect to the drive. If you are replacing a drive, you should be ok. Just make sure it is the correct physical size. I am looking at this drive replace my other hdd.
