WD BLUE is their mainstream drive and the GREEN is entry level. Blue has aprox. 75% longer rated lifespan. BLACK is the "enthusiast" level drive. ( more expensive) BLUE is what is commonly found in most laptops and desktop computers from major manufacturers.
