• Yes, very much so. Only thing is that you have to reformat the drive so that the PS4 can detect it. Took less than 5 min on a PC.

• Yes, you can clone your PS4 but will not extend the partition so don't expect to clone a 500GB drive to a 2TB drive and have useable space. That is not possible. However, I have used a laptop drive attached to the cable adapter successfully as a "thumb drive" to backup data.
