“I have an old HP computer with windows 7 on it. Want to back up lots of pics and business files before getting a new computer. Will I be able to do that with this hardrive? Not extremely literate on computers.”

It should be fine assuming that your old HP PC has at least USB2.0 port and is capable to recognize the external drive

You should be able to. You will plug it in to the USB port and it may install a driver automatically. Then you can open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer; this is the little yellow folder). Drag your pics and files or copy the same and paste into the hard drive. Hope this works for you.

Yes. As long as you open file, run the program designated by your computer (mac or windows), and use zip files to keep things organize, you will still have lots of space.
