- Answer I currently have a 4TB version of this set up with my Xbox. I bought this to replace it. Two of my friends did the same and have already transferred their games and started using the 10TB model to store games. You can indeed use it with your Xbox.

- Answer This has the WD white drives, not red. They are the helium filled variety, but do sometimes need a pin covered or adapter used to work in a PC outside the enclosure.

- Answer When formatting the drive, use the exFAT file system format so Windows and Mac can read and write to it. For large drives, you should format with exFAT anyway.

- Answer Kodi will read pretty much anything, so if it formatted for the shield then kodi can read it. Android should read exfat and ntfs.

QuestionAre there companies that transfer movies and photos to something like this? I’m old and tech challenged and I have about 200 great movies that could be moved from my theatre and I could replace them with another chair or two for the grandkids.

- Answer Sure. Either side is fine, as long as you don't jostle it too much while it's in operation. Keep the top & bottom clear though, so you get proper ventilation.

- Answer I bought 4 of these to populate a new NAS. Totally normal internal HDD inside. In fact, I also took a non-WD HDD and put it in the enclosure and that worked as well.

- Answer The WD 10TB EasyStore connects via USB so it will work with your laptop provided it has a USB port. Drive is USB 3.0, but will work (just more slowly) when connected via USB 2.0. The drive isn't easily portable since it requires a separate power brick for power. If your storage needs are modest, consider getting something like a WD Passport that gets its power directly via the USB cable. Also consider getting two drives so one can be stored offsite. Backups can be made with free software like SyncBack Free.

- Answer Yes you can use it that way. How ever at least on Xbox one it will prompt you to format the drive do not do so as it will delete everything and it will only work for storing games at that point

- Answer @Prudent, While this model doesn't have built-in hardware encryption, you can use Bitlocker-to-go to encrypt it as an external drive. If you have a Mac you can also APFS format it with optional encryption, so the answer is yes. Even Linux supports encryption of external media.
