• Most recent PCs will supply enough amperage to spin this drive up. If you have USB 3.0, it will spin up for sure. Now, if using an old laptop or desktop from the 90's, you might need this to be plugged into a powered hub or use an older style two-plug USB cable for extra power from a second port for it to spin up.
