There are many ways to transfer data to the hard disk. Do you use thumb drives? It can be a similar process. Whatever program you are using needs to be told to save/store in the Passport, as in "Save As" and then pointing to the passport drive. These are the types of questions best asked to the Geek Squad at Best Buy if you are having difficulties. You can also search online for more information.
