“I've recently purchased two of these drives, a few issues: 1) Instructions useless 2) Ive run the software on the drives and I still am not prompted for a password and no official screen comes up when I connect to WD Any feedback would be great.”

It may not be a password protected model. Did you check YouTube for some videos for this model?
