You will need to reformat the drive to Mac's format (this drive is formatted for Windows NTFS format) you reformat in "Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility" then select "Erase" and "Mac OS Extended Journaled" BUT! if you are not familiar with formatting drives I recommend you get a "Formatted for MAC" hard drive, same price and brand.
