No. it will work fine with exfat. you only need ntfs if you are bitlocking or want file permissions.

Please try again later.No, you do not, it comes formatted with exfat (like SD cards), has usb 3.2, so if you have a compatible port (like on my razer blade), speeds are significantly faster. The other plus is a robust outer shell with a metal top for heat dissipation. The fact that it is designed for "gaming" means it shines in normal use also!
