Yes, it absolutely works with the Series X. I’m using it now. (And there is no need to pay extra for the Xbox branded version from WD. They are the same drive.) However, it’s worth noting that this drive is NOT an alternative to the special 1TB expansion drive for the Series X. You’ll need to either use your internal storage or the 1TB expansion for running most next gen games, since they require transfer speeds that this external drive simply cannot achieve. But you can use the P10 drive as storage for your backwards compatible library and run older gen games from it just fine. You can also copy next gen games you’re not currently playing over to this drive, and then copy them back to internal storage once you’re ready to play them again.

This *should* work for any Xbox One, Xbox 360, and original Xbox games you want to play on the Series X. But absolutely not for any games specifically designed for the new hardware.
