Yes and no.... so you can use this to download ps4 games into your ps5 but once you try to download ps5 games into this unit it won’t allow you to do so. In conclusion only buy it if you plan to buy ps4 games for your ps5... or wait for a drive to come out that’s comparable with ps5 games

As of today, April 14th, 2021, you can now move PS5 games to external hard drives for storage. You can't play them on the HD, they have to be transferred back to the internal storage for that. But this allows you to better manage the SSD.

I just bought the D10 (8TB Hard drive) for my son and initially after some research on the PlayStation site it was indicated that you could only download either PS4 OR PS5 games, but not both on the same hard drive. It arrived on 4/13/21 and at that time you could only choose to save PS4 games, but there was a PS5 system update so now you can save both PS4 and PS5 games on the same drive.
