Yes I have connected it to a PS5 and it works

Yes. You can transfer games back and forth between the ps5 internal hard drive and this external hard drive to free up internal hard drive space. Ps4 games can be played directly off of the external hard drive but ps5 games must be moved to the ps5 internal hard drive in order to be played.
