• Islandgrl0609, this is a unit designed to be supported from the top and rear of the Microwave cabinet, the fuel type for the Range below will indicate the height needed for a preferred install. The unit will do a great job over a gas Range.

• Yes, just follow the instructions that describe the minimum distance that it must be mounted above the stove. It has a fan that will automatically turn on to prevent overheating as well.
