The width of my over the range microwave is 29.75", which I believe is standard for ranges and over range microwaves. The depth is 16" which is the same depth as my prior microwave. Obviously, measure your space and compare it to the dimensions which I expect will be given if you look at products on line.

If you're talking venting through the ceiling we just replaced our microwave after 8 years. No issues until a component burned out. I much prefer venting outside to get the heat out of the kitchen. As always, as long as it's installed well to include the vent pipes, it'll last. That's been our experience. Hope this helps!
