The start button took me a while too. By trial-and-error, I determined that the start button is the little ">" symbol on the bottom left of the control panel. I have not worried about the charcoal filter yet, and don't know where it is. I have yet to find any useful users' guide or other documentation.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello Kathy! The start button is the button that looks like a sideways triangle just to the left of the +30 seconds and X (Cancel) button. The charcoal filters absorb odors produced by the cooking process before recirculating air back into the kitchen. Charcoal filters are only required with ventilation hoods or microwave hoods that are not vented outside through external ductwork. Charcoal filters cannot be washed and should be replaced approximately every three months. We hope this helps!
