“Just bought this refrigerator should it have come with Air Filter installed? Also in looking at where the air filter is supposed to be it appears that there is a piece of styrofoam being used as backing inside airfilter box is this normal?”

That should have been removed. The box is for some type of carbon that keeps odors at bay. This is something extra you have to buy. Not sure why we’re not told when buying the appliances but the man that installed mine showed me that’s what it’s for. Good luck!!
