Always use a power strip to protect against power peaks/spikes and power troughs/losses. Be sure to match the voltage and amperage to your nameplate on your machine using the nomenclature. Always buy a power strip with a higher rating than your appliance.

The timer, water level sensor, ect. are no longer mechanical switches....as with most everything today, its all computer driven & sensitive to dirty power.
