There is no remedy. Whirlpool designed this range to meet the maximum allowable surface temperature of 152 degrees. So if you call a technician to test the temp and it is less then 152 degrees, Whirlpool will say sorry, the range is "operating as designed". I found out our test was done incorrectly, and their result was 140 degrees. They said, you guessed it, "operating as designed". When tested correctly by a certified electrician the surface temperature was 155 degrees! Whirlpool will do nothing to resolve this issue. Ask me how I know... Why doesn't Whirlpool warn consumers that this range will get HOT! Deceptive practice. Not good.
