I can't answer about the asthma but my wife can tell a difference with her allergies. She says it's much easier to breathe. The fan is fairly quiet. It has a turbo but the noise level is not that noticeable. It moves a lot of air in turbo. Even low speeds air moves very efficiently. We love the unit and it's worth the money.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought this because my sister, who has asthma and allergies, recommended it to me. My allergies aren’t as bad ever since I got this. I don’t know how well it has helped my sister with her asthma. The fan isn’t loud at all, I manage to sleep through it. The good thing is that it automatically turns on and off.
