“I have 2 of these. Neither allows me to see the battery condition. When charging there is no battery indicator light and when using it the torque selection button only allows you to rotate through its settings. What an I missing?”

OP here. There is literally no diode (fixture) to light up up. There's no mention of this feature on the package instructions. Can you provide an image or documentation? Thanks

When charging, the LED near the USB-C port should light up to indicate charging status. If you're not seeing any light, please ensure the charger and cable are functioning properly and securely connected.
