Yes I did this. I purchased an external hard drive and transferred everything from my One to the hard drive. I just plugged my hard drive into my new Xbox one S and just play directly from it. You can transfer games from the external hard drive to the one s hard drive, but I choose not to and left space on my one S hard drive for new games.
