• I have personally put the card in an old EVGA x58 FTW3 motherboard with pci express 2.0 and it worked, so i don't see why a board with pci express 3.0 standards would not work.

• I am using the card with my ASRock z170(same chipset as your gigabyte) and it's working perfectly. I wouldnt worry about it.
