• It is battery powered, and the app will tell you when it's time to replace the batteries. Takes about 15 seconds to take the lid off pull out the old ones and insert the new ones.

• The lock is powered by 4 batteries (either double or triple a). The app will alert as batteries begin to run low. That should be about once a year
