Yes. With August, and you have connected the system ti w-fi, you can see when the door is locked, unlocked, opened, closed, or left ajar. As long as you have internet wherever you are, you can see activity and you can lock or unlock the door.

Yes you can! Download the August Home app and Apple HomeKit for maximum functionality. You can also program the lock to automatically unlock once you arrive in your driveway (triggered by your phone)- and lock again after 2-30 minutes. Just make sure you have good reception- I unlocked my door in Best Buy once. I walked to the back of the store, lost reception, and needed to go back toward the front of the store to lock it again. Yet... This is an awesome purchase! We love it!

Only about 1 out of 50 times. Read the product reviews on Google, they're horrible and mostly due to August providing a subpar and often defective bluetooth / wifi module
