“Have old Marantz speakers that are hooked up by wire into my old receiver. If I purchase a new receiver with plug-in required can the wire be converted somehow into plug-ins. I do not want to purchase new speakers”

Just cut the wire and strip off the coating and insert into the speaker wire hole. It's spring loaded. It will work fine
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Virtually all receivers sold today have simple spring-loaded terminals on the back which will except bare speaker wire. You should have no problem hooking up your speakers . I know this is true for the Yamaha 200 W stereo receiver. Hope this helps.
