Can you fly this drone without a smartphone or pad? null

No, you can't, you need a smartphone. But don't buy it. Looks cool but it's bad, google Yuneec Flyaway or Breeze flyaway. When this happens the company will blame you for get away from honoring their warranty.

No, you can not fly this drone without a smartphone or pad.

The short answer is NO. You CAN purchase a remote (some bundles come with this), but the smart phone/tablet is still required. Also note the "Breeze Cam" app is only available for android and apple ios. The Breeze uses 5g wifi for it's connection, so your smart phone/tablet must support 5g to work. The remote connects to the phone using bluetooth. 16g memory is built into the breeze and no other memory is needed. IMHO at it's current price, the Breeze is a great buy.

You can use an iPad or IPhone. Obviously, the bigger the display, the better the live view feed. I use an iPhone 7+.

I know the is an optional control pad with vr glasses. So maybe with the control pad. Not really sure. It doesn't say anything in the instruction book.

You can purchase a controller similar to PS4 controller that you can use to fly but it doesn't change distances you can fly. Unlike the DJI spark this does not have gesturing.
