Most employees will not charge this $8 fee to keep customers happy. If you dont want the $8 charge you can refuse the fee and install the new screen protector yourself. Most employees will not charge this fee. Should you not want to pay $8 just tell the employee that you will take the new screen protector and install it yourself. If you appose the $8 fee most employees will waive the fee and still install it for you.

Ive had mine replaced a dozen times and it just depends on the person you encounter to do the replacement. When you are told that it will cost $8 do not agree to the charge and tell the person that youve had it replaced multiple times with no charge. Despite being told there is an $8 charge a hand full of times I just refuse the charge and the employee replaces the screen protector at no charge. Best Buy needs to be clear with employees and customers about future fees if any associated with warrantied products like these. I did have one employee that told me there is an $8 charge for them to install the screen protector and just handed me a new screen protector to install myself. So maybe it is best buys policy to charge $8 for the geek squad to install the screen protector for customers but most employees do it at no cost to build good will with the customer base. Especially considering it is such a fast swap and makes such a huge impact on a customers device usability. Its the employees saving best buy from their own bad policy choices made by corporate employees 5 miles removed from the in store customer experience.
