Not sure what you mean by rainbow effect. Screen fits exactly what the color of the screen is not into the black of the screen. very pleased with the quality of the screen protector and looks great. Clarity of the iPhone x is awesome no distortions at all.. I hope this helps you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hmmm. No rainbow effect that I have experienced. I've had a Zagg on my Samsung 8 for close to 6 months and all I see is a beautiful clear screen. It covers the entire screen edge to edge. I have been using Zagg on other models of phones for years, and would not hesitate to tell anyone how great they are. Well worth the investment. This may be a matter of improper installation - some air may have been left between the phone's glass screen and the glass protector which may cause distortion. Perhaps it's wise to steer clear of knock-off glass screen protectors, which may not cover the entire surface. And be sure to have your Zagg professionally installed. Just sayin.....

If I were you, I'd go with Zagg's Glass+ rather than this as this protector DOES NOT stay in place. If you carry your phone in your pocket, the protector will move and not stay centered. When I took off the last replacement, I noticed it wasn't exactly gluey on the back but just like a grippiness. Very disappointed in this being their "best" solution.
