• It does come in the color black. It comes in a variety of colors like black, white, rose gold, sage, and violet. To answer your question about the keyboard, no, it is not detachable. There is a version of this keyboard that does have a detachable case by the same brand, Zagg.

• Yes I do have a black portfolio for the air and the keyboard is not detachable. But I prefer it that way.
